If you love music and dancing then you are going to love living in Lake Chapala. In fact there is so much going on each and every day of the week that you simply cannot attend them all. Here is just a sampling of a typical week in Lake Chapala.
Mondays: Adelitas Bar and Grill has a great Rock n Roll/Latino band every Monday at 7:00. This is always a packed house so come early. Reservations are needed weeks in advance during the winter season.
Tuesdays: Make your way down to La Bodega and hear The Casas brothers, Sergio on bass and vocals, Paco on guitar and vocals, the always popular Jimmy Barto on trumpet, flugelhorn and vocals. Music starts at 7:30 PM
Go Bistro will be hosting Arpa de Chapala featuring Jose Armando Rivera on bass, Jose Antonio Marquez on violin, Jared Jimenez Encarnation on guitar and Javier Rayboza Munguia on harp with two sets from 6:30 to 8:30 PM during dinner.
Wednesdays: The Chameleon Bar in Centro Ajijic has Tommy Banks and The Soul Investors with Miguel Soto on drums and David Perez for your entertainment.... mix this in with a great pizza and you’ve got it made!
Want something a little lighter? Manix Restaurant has Ricardo and Blanco with all your dance favorites..
Do you want to make your own music? No problem. Open mic is available at La Bodega Restaurant and Bar. El Patio features Jerry Mayfield.
Thursdays: La Bodega de Ajijic has Ricardo and Blanca for your listening and dancing pleasure starting at 8 PM. The restaurant is located 3 blocks towards the lake from the Pemex on the Carretera in Ajijic.
Fridays: Friday night live at the IRON HORSE is Golden Hill. They are one of our new bands from Guadalajara. They play a great variety of classic rock. The band starts at 9:30 PM! Ladies night specials from 8 to11PM.
Adelita Bar & Grill has Jonathan and Los Traficantes de Ritmo are back on Friday nights! A great mix of Latin, pop, rock, new and old. A great band! They go from 8:30 to 11 PM.
Spend a good time with Rodrigo Leal at the piano from 7 PM to 9 PM at St. Remy du Lac in Ajijic. Fine French cuisine and an unforgettable evening.
Saturdays: Roberto’s Restaurant has the Tres Amigos featuring the Casas Brothers and Chelo González on drums with lots of fun and Cumbia Saturday from 7 to 10 PM and you can learn this dance from Juan the Waiter. Along with the regular menu is special 20 Peso beer, 2 X 1 Margarita’s and pub style food.
Adelitas Bar and Grill has another great band every Saturday night from 6 to 8 PM,
Sundays: Enjoy the best mimosa brunch at Roberto’s Restaurant and enjoy the keyboard styling of Daniel Tejeda.
The Food Lake Container has Romantic Instrumental Music at 4 PM every Sunday. They are located about a block west of the 7 Eleven in Riberas.
In addition, CREM, Lakeside’s regional music school, will play a free concert Saturday, May 18th at 6 PM at the Ajijic Plaza. The school gives classes to Lakeside students in violin, piano, cello, guitar, saxophone, flute, transversal, clarinet, viola and song. The Ballet Raqs Sharqui from Ixtlahuacan de los Membrillos together with the Ballet Atequiza, Ballet Raqs Yumeria and Tribu Prismata offer a festival of belly dance at the Auditorio de la Ribera Saturday, May 19, 5 PM. Special guests include Tracy Rhaj and Sandra Cuevas. Tickets are only 150 for the sides or 200 pesos in the center seats
